The Royals

Everyone around me knows this fact well: I'm a huge fan of the Queen.

She's a lovely woman. Unlike many of the youngsters in the UK nowadays, she performs her duties wholeheartedly and she deserves our respect. Anyone who dare to suggest that the Monarchy should be abolished will have my complete contempt (this would not apply if you are talking about Monarchy under Charles).

Some ignorant people always wrongly accused the Queen for doing nothing yet asking the taxpayers to pay for their "extravagant" lifestyle. Well, I'll say: bullshit. According to the April issue of Business Life by British Airways, it says,

"The Taxpayers' Alliance, an unofficial watchdog and pressure group, calculates that the monarchy provides the country with a net gain of 127 million pounds a year (mainly from the Crown Estate), good value for money, quite apart from the tourist revenue it attracts. In its latest report, the Alliance says: 'Not only does the monarchy pay for itself, it buys everyone on the country a drink as well.'"

So here you go. Not only does the Royal Family generate financial gain for the country, it also gives us numerous headlines and gossips, which are all essential for our general wellbeing.

They can be my kings anytime.

God Save The Queen.
