Billy Elliot
I cried 3 times when I saw the movie. So when I stepped into the theatre, I thought I woudn't be touched anymore, at least to the extent that I wouldn't cry, because I had seen the movie so many times that I could recite the lines. And I was wrong.
Billy Elliot The Musical did the magic, just like the big screen version. Of course it's longer than the movie (3 hrs compared to 2), but no part of it whatsover makes you find it boring. The dancing is excellent, so is the singing. So many laughters, and so much tears. The way the theatrical version handles the death of Billy's mum touched me so much that I just couldn't stop my tears from bursting out. It was such a beautiful piece of art. The boy who played Billy was absolutely talented. (unfortunately I don't really know which one played him in the show that I attended because there are just so many. But I'm sure it's not the boy from Hong Kong)
If you have the chance to come to London, GO AND SEE IT! Buy the most expensive type of ticket (which costs slightly more than 50 pounds). This is the only way to truly enjoy the best British theatrical production ever.
