United Nations

While everyone (I mean REALLY everyone, including the knocked up teenage girls at supermarket tills) are talking about the crisis in Lebanon, today I read a hilarious article on The Time called "Beginners' Guide to The United Nations".

Origin - The United Nations is designed to stop wars. It has been very successful apart from during wars.

UN Resolutions - When countries resolve to give up smoking, chocolate, or bombing their neighbours.

UN Charter - Coach trip. Seating plan is tricky. Iran won't sit next to the US, Japan won't sit next to China, and no one will sit next to Burma.

Security Council - So secure it won't let anyone else join.

Goodwill Ambassador - Attractive actress, slightly too old to get much work, looking for free flights to the Third World in search of pretty children to adopt.

Delegation - What the UN is good at.

It is cool that you are able to live in London. My sister and I are visiting London for the first time at the end of December and are so excited for that vacation. Good luck with the bar exam!
